The world’s most famous sports car has just received a major update in India. Porsche has launched the new 911 (codenamed 992.2) in the Indian market. For the first time in its 61-year history, the road-going 911 now comes with a hybrid engine option.

The Base Model: 911 Carrera

If you do not want the hybrid version, Porsche has also updated the standard 911 Carrera. It still uses the 3.0-liter twin-turbo boxer engine but has been improved.

It now uses the turbochargers from the previous GTS models and the intercooler from the Turbo models. The result is 394 hp (an increase of 9 hp) and a 0-100 km/h time of 4.1 seconds (3.9 seconds with the Sport Chrono package).

Fresh Look and Digital Interior

The new 911 looks sharper but keeps its classic shape.

• Exterior: The front bumper has larger cooling vents. The headlights are now “Matrix LED” as standard, which integrate all light functions, removing the need for separate driving lights below. The rear features a redesigned light strip with an illuminated “PORSCHE” logo.
• Interior: For the first time, the 911 has a fully digital 12.6-inch driver display. You can customize it to show different views, including the classic five-dial layout.
