Porsche has officially entered a new era in the Indian market with the launch of the Porsche Cayenne Electric. This all-new electric SUV combines the brand’s legendary performance with futuristic EV technology. With prices starting at Rs 1.76 crore (ex-showroom), the Cayenne Electric is set to redefine the luxury electric SUV segment in India.

Bookings are now open across all Porsche Centers in India, with deliveries expected to begin in the second half of 2026.

Porsche has introduced the Cayenne Electric in two distinct trims to cater to different types of buyers:

1. Cayenne Electric (Standard): This is the entry-level model, priced at Rs 1.76 crore. It focuses on balancing range and performance for daily luxury use.
2. Cayenne Turbo Electric: This is the high-performance beast, priced at Rs 2.26 crore. It is designed for enthusiasts who want supercar-level acceleration in an SUV body.

Both models come with a massive 113kWh battery pack and a dual-motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) setup as standard.

Performance That Breaks Records

The numbers for the new Cayenne Electric are staggering, even for Porsche standards.

• Top Speed & Acceleration: The top-spec Turbo Electric variant produces a mind-bending 1,156 hp and 1,150 Nm of torque. It can sprint from 0 to 100 kph in just 2.5 seconds, making it the most powerful production Porsche SUV ever sold in India.
• Standard Model Power: The standard variant is no slouch either, churning out 408 hp and 835 Nm of torque. It completes the 0-100 kph dash in 4.8 seconds.

Range and Charging Tech

Range anxiety is a major concern for Indian EV buyers, and Porsche has addressed this well.

• Range: The standard model offers a claimed range of 642 km on a single charge, while the powerful Turbo variant delivers around 623 km.
• Wireless Charging: In a first for Porsche EVs in India, the Cayenne Electric comes with an optional 11kW wireless charging feature. This allows owners to simply park over a charging pad without plugging in cables.

Interior: A Screen-Heavy Cockpit

The cabin of the Cayenne Electric is a major upgrade from the petrol versions. It borrows heavily from the Taycan’s “driver experience” philosophy.

• Triple Screen Layout: The dashboard is dominated by a 14.5-inch curved touchscreen infotainment system. There is also a digital driver’s display and an optional 10.9-inch passenger display where the co-passenger can stream videos or control music.
• Luxury Features: Standard equipment includes 8-way electrically adjustable seats, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a 14-speaker Bose sound system. Buyers can upgrade to a 20-speaker Harman Kardon system for a studio-like audio experience.

The luxury EV market in India is heating up. Until now, buyers looking for a high-end electric SUV mostly considered the Lotus Eletre, BMW iX, or the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV. The arrival of the Cayenne Electric shakes up this segment.
